Dear all,
Welcome to my blog "The Maple Tree Project".
I am Any Persiani, Industrial Engineer, Aviation Consultant, enthusiastic mom of toddler twins and this is what I know: December is my favorite time of the year and without a doubt, Christmas lights up my life as no other holiday does.
That is why December is the ideal month to launch this very personal project for me and share it with all of you.
Everyone who knows me, family, friends, relatives, knows that I have always had a strong passion for cooking, but especially baking. I would be the one preparing the Christmas cookies and desserts for the festivities.
When I became a mom, my children and everything children-related became a new passion and as they started growing I realized the importance of good nutrition in the early years of childhood, the infant and toddler years, and how it influences children's development.
I wanted to provide the best for them as they got started in solid foods, non-processed, no salt, no sugars, etc, etc, but to my surprise, I did not find all those elements in packed baby and toddler food.
Therefore, I started preparing it myself.
From making purees to veggie muffins to salmon fingers, I had to search in books, magazines, and online for the best recipes I could find to provide the best meals to the children.
Gladly, my job allowed me the time flexibility to do this, but I wondered...what if I had a more complicated work schedule, go to an office with hectic hours, long shifts, how could I do this?
The Maple Tree Project is a journey where I can mix two passions, baking, and children, creating meals that kids enjoy, manipulate easily, and that helps them develop their bodies and minds, keeping them healthy and happy.
That is why I recently joined a professional pastry online course at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, to help me get the tools and techniques to consolidate this project at a professional level.
I invite you to join me to discover flavor, learn new pastry techniques, and develop delicious recipes for the most precious thing in our lives and our future: our children.
Children are blank pages on which we write our good or bad habits. We have the opportunity to support them build a strong body and a healthy mind.
I welcome your comments or questions, I'll be happy to answer them the best way I can, and don't forget to follow us on our social networks.
Happy second week of December!
